Future eurodeputies, placed face to face with the civil society and the business environment
Eurosfat 2014 brings together senior EU officials and future MEPs with representatives of the business environment and civil society in Romania, to discuss and outline their positions and expectations for a new European mandate.
As a partner of the event, the European Institute for Participatory Democracy – Qvorum invites you to participate at the 2014 Eurosfat, a prestigious event organized by Europuls Association and the Romanian Centre for European Policies (RCEP), with guests such as Guy Verhofstadt – president of ALDE and appointed candidate to the Presidency of the European Comission, European Comissioner Dacian Ciolo; and Doru Franţescu, Qvorum expert in European affairs and Policy Director of Votewatch Europe.
Along with other European personalities and candidats at the European elections in 2014, they will take stock of the past year and answer the questions and challenges of civil society and the business environment in Romania, on the development of Europe in the future.
Discussions will be held both in plenary sessions and in specialized workshops, where participants will be able to interact personally with the guests. The opening plenary sessions will focus mainly on European elections and how to improve the electoral process, while the closing meeting will be a discussion between the leaders of the European political parties. They will have the chance to present their own vision of the future of the EU in the context of an election year and answer questions raised by the participants. Other topics that will be addressed during the discussion will be Romania’s accession to Schengen, or the economic output of the economical periphery of EU or labour mobility in Europe.
Eurosfat 2014 will be taking place on April 7, 2014, at The House of Parliament. The event is organized by Europuls and the Romanian Centre for European Politics, under the patronage of the European Parliament, the Greek Presidency of the EU Council and the Chamber of Deputies.
