Do you want to pursue a career in diplomacy?

The European Institute for Participative Democracy – Qvorum is launching a series of training programs designed to provide the participants with less known information about the profession of a diplomat, the activities that it actually involves and how to maximize the chances to pursue this career.

You will have the opportunity to interact directly with Romanian and foreign diplomats accredited in Bucharest, that will share interesting experiences of their activity.

Who is it addressed to ?
Employees of NGOs, students, and graduates wishing to pursue a career in diplomacy.
Programme: The training will take place between the 6th and the 8th of November, 2010 (in the afternoon).

Location: EIPD Qvorum Headquarter, Romana Square, District 1, Bucharest.

The training method is results-oriented, based on:
• Interactivity
• Emphasis on practical aspects and less on theoretical ones
• Concrete examples and first-hand information
• Simulation of diplomatic activities and direct interaction with diplomats.

At the end of training, beneficiaries will have gained knowledge on:
• The role, competence and structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European External Action Service
• Diplomatic Corps, benefits and obligations of a diplomat’s function
• Types of Diplomatic Missions, and their role and structure
• Communication and Protocol in Diplomacy (official correspondence, diplomatic events)
• Etiquette and dress codes.

Trainer: The training will be held by professionals working in the diplomatic field.

Language: The training will be conducted in Romanian, but students are expected to have average knowledge of English in order to facilitate the discussions with the guests.

Fee: Participation in this training will require the payment of a 500 RON fee. Students and NGO employees receive a 20% discount.

Follow-up: Soon after this training, EIPD Qvorum will organize an advanced training module aimed to explain the functioning of international organizations.
