Have you ever asked yourself what can you do for your community? Do you feel that you can improve different aspects within the society you live in?
Come along with other teenagers like you and find out the answer during “Initiative for My Community” Programme, a project that propose to grow teenagers` active involvement extent (high-school students, teenagers aged between 16 and 24 years) in public life of their community, financed by SEE 2009-2014 grants, in the Romanian NGO Fund.
The status of active citizen involves much more knowledge than we can imagine, so we took into account each detail when we chase the themes for you and for your participant fellows:
During the trainings (lectured between 11-13 Februaryin Giurgiu) there will be addressed the following topics:
- Who are you, the citizen, in public administration system?
- Entrepreneurship, sustainable development;
- No hate speech and gender equality;
Also during February you will have the chance to:
- Be a local councilor during the simulation of local council;
- Attend workshops hosted by decision-making public institutions at local and county level; – the teenagers have the opportunity to discuss with the people enrolled in institutional environment.
- Be active in your community! You belong to a local initiative group and contribute to the development of your community; – The mission of Giurgiu local initiative group is to become a working and dialogue instrument between citizens and local authorities for the eradication of community problems in domains such as: economy, education, agriculture, social domain, public administration.
In order to sign on, the steps you are to follow are as easy an ABC: send us your CV, together with a two page motivational essay, entitled: “How do I want my community to be?” at the e-mail address: [email protected]. Deadline: February 5th.
There is no tax for attending the formation programme!
All of the selected participants will be announced via e-mail regarding the unfolded activity programme (schedule that can be adjusted depending of the availability of local authorities).
