Have you ever tried talking to citizens from your community about the problems that you consider important? Do you want to know how public decisions in your town are made or what the functioning mechanisms of the public institutions are? Do you believe you can be a leader for your community?

Apply now for the “Initiative for my community!” programme, a project that aims to raise the active implication rate among youngsters (highschool pupils and students, aged between 16 and 24 years) in the public life of their local communities, financed through the SEE grants 2009 – 2014, in the NGO Fund in Romania.
The active citizen posture impplies a far more consistent knowledge than we could ever imagine, therefore we thought of every little detail when choosing the right topics for you and your other colleagues. Thus, during the programmed trainings, several themes will be discused:
- Functioning mechanisms of the public administration institutions and active methods of implication in the public decision-making procress;
- Entrepreneurship, sustainable development and active methods of implication in the public decision-making process;
- Antidiscrimination, No hate speech and gender equality.
The first training modules will be taking place between October 31 and November 3, with the detailed schedule below:
Besides the training sessions, we also prepared the following:
- Between November 5 and 7: Simulation of local council meeting;
- Between November 17 and 21: Work visits at the institutions with a decision-making role at a local and central level;
- Creating local initiative groups at the end of the training programme.[1]

There is no participation fee for this training programme!
